Be Carried Away

Floating.jpg

'Drift time' is when you’re no longer focused on what you are doing. When you are in drift time, you check email, watch a video, or engage in any behavior that distracts you from completing projects.

Drift time is terrific when it is used properly. Everyone needs a break now and then. Be aware, though, of interruptions that suck up valuable time and keep you from finishing your projects. I think it’s all about balance. You know, some work, some play.

A Simple Delay

Whether you know it or not, all the seemingly random stuff -- that keeps happening to you -- is nothing more than the universe giving you a big push from behind.

Need an example? You want to go out, but you can't find your darn sunglasses. Twenty minutes later, you find them. You head out to Starbucks.

While there, you meet the owner of a dog training business. It just so happens you train dogs. You're looking for work. You two hit it off. She hands you her business card. She asks you to call her.

See. The universe made sure you got hung up. It wanted you to wait an extra twenty minutes. Why? Because. You were meant to meet your new boss.
