Goal Importance

Listening.jpg

When you set a goal and realize its value and importance, you’ll find yourself noticing opportunities to help you achieve that goal. Sometimes, you’ll find an opportunity you never knew was there. But, as I’ve stated before many times — and, in many different ways — you’ve got to believe it’s there to experience it.

A Weird Week

Desk.jpg

I had a really weird week. One minute I’m on fire with ideas, the next minute I’m calling all my ideas stupid. What’s really weird, though, is that I didn’t end up one : step : forward on any of my ideas. That matters to me because moving forward (and growing) is what I’m about.

Something — else — interesting happened this week I want to share with you. I uncovered “why” I experienced my fluctuating ‘on fire with ideas’ to ‘my ideas are stupid’ roller coaster ride.

I realize that while all that was going on, I became totally exhausted. And, in my state of exhaustion, I just stopped thinking.

It was in my “non-thinking” time I became aware of something about myself that was causing all the havoc. Turns out, it was a big, huge, incongruent belief.

How I tackled this, and — what ultimately got me through the process — was that I stayed in alignment with my values.

How about you? Are you looking for an answer to something you’re doing that’s keeping you stuck? If yes, you might consider looking into any hidden beliefs, intentions, or behaviors that don’t align with your values.

According to Dr. Murray, here are three things he thinks are critical when it comes to being congruent (the stuff in parenthesis are my summary words):

  1. Know what makes you tick (these are your values).

  2. Set daily goals (this is for focus and commitment).

  3. Be mindful (be aware of what is going on at the present moment).

That’s it. Hope that helps. And, remember, if I can help you find what you need, to live the life you love, just email me. I’m always here to help.

Fight That Funky Feeling

Change_Move.jpg

Change. Hard to deal with, huh? Well, my belief is that change isn't the challenge. The real challenge to change is hanging in there long enough to get beyond the funky feeling change evokes. If you can do that, change will happen.

I have a quick need/request of you. If you know of someone great at marketing, could you please ask them to get in touch with me. We're moving forward on some big plans, and want to add some wonderful people to the Aspire team (Aspire is the name of my company). Thanks! ❤️

Wishing You Could Change Things

Something Interesting Happened
I discovered that I had thoughts that simply were not true (but I believed that they were). Unfortunately for me, though, once I checked off those thoughts as true, every decision I made going forward was based off of that 'non-truth'.

Stepping back, I see how this happened, and, how it can happen to you, too. It happens because we have a need to follow our self-beliefs of who we 'think' we are. We want certainly. Patterns feel right. We want to know who we really are inside.

What Happened Next
Once I uncovered this discovery, I immediately did a course correct. It took me awhile to convince myself to move on, but once I did, I became happier, I felt lighter, and I was more focused. It's almost as if the universe took over.

The weird part of this, though, is that I can see non-truths when I'm working with clients. They explain something to me, and I can come right back with the question that gets them to rethink what they think is true. Then if necessary, they do a course correct.

Something to Think About
I recommend you take some time to see how your life is going. If you feel stuck, unmotivated, wishing you could change things, you might be dealing with some 'non-truths' of your own.

The good news is that once you get those out of the way and live your truth, life will open up and deliver to you all it's grace and beauty it has to offer.

Please Pass the Cereal

Do you ever feel overwhelmed? You know, the kind of overwhelmed that makes you want to eat 11 bowls of Cheerios™ at 10 p.m. just to chill out? The problem with feeling overwhelmed is that it keeps you from problem solving your way to a solution.

I am currently coaching a woman who wants to do what I do. She wants to empower and inspire women (and men) to get what they really want and enjoy their life. But, she feels so far from where she needs to be to make her big goal happen.

Hearing her describe all of her concerns, obstacles, and self beliefs about how impossible it is to leave her office job, I feel nothing but respect for her. I mean, really. Everything she told me is real to her. But, even with her obstacles, she still wants to change careers and I know she can do it.

What gets in the way of getting what you want in life are your beliefs and your values. It's your beliefs and your values that controls your entire life. And everyday, you decide which emotional states (your values) you want to either feel or avoid based off of beliefs.

When we look at beliefs, we know that all human behavior is belief driven.  So, if one of your beliefs is that you can't be successful, you're probably not going to be successful. If you believe you can succeed, you'll most likely succeed. Those are just different beliefs.

And, if your values are in conflict with one another, you're in conflict. By that I mean, let's say that one of your values is being adventurous. But you also need security (another value), now you're in conflict. You'll be torn as to which direction you want your life to go.

The bottom line is it's your beliefs and your values that control your entire life. If you desire a change in your life, begin by uncovering your beliefs and values. And if they're negative, resolve it by creating positive self beliefs that align with your personal values.
