What do you need to be doing, but aren't, because you are waiting for your attitude to change? For example, will you walk when you feel motivated? Will you start saving money when you feel better about investing? Will you say no to someone when you feel empowered?
Don't wait to do what you need to do. Just do it (sorry Nike). You don't need to feel like walking, just go for a short walk. You don't need to feel comfortable about investing, just throw $10 in a purple plastic bucket every Friday night. You don't need to feel empowered to tell someone no, just say no.
This advice I'm giving you is the very advice I must constantly give to myself. My waiting takes form when I have a need to test, prove, or perfect whatever I'm doing. My stomach actually feels upset when I force myself to just do what I know I need to do.
Begin this weekend to become conscious of when you know you need to do something, but you wait. Record what that activity is, and also notice why you decided to wait. Do this for a couple of weeks to look for a pattern.
Changing this pattern won't be so easy. In fact, you might have to create a new pattern to replace the existing pattern. But, remember, a new pattern can't happen until you figure out what you're doing and why you're doing it. Figure that out first, and change will happen.
