The end of November marks about one month left in this year. What I want to know is, do you have plans for New Years? Better yet, do you have plans for the new year?
If you're like most people, you wonder if your life is going to be any different next year.
I want you to get really decisive about your life this upcoming year. Decide to get healthy. Decide to change jobs. Decide to lower your stress. Whatever you need to do, decide to do it (even if that means stopping something rather than doing something).
The truth is, your beliefs — and what you think about your beliefs — determines if you change or not. May I give you an example? If you decide to give up sugar — then see a bowl of candy — your thinking about how much will power you 'think' you have will determine if you reach for it or not.
So, I guess what I’m saying here is this: focus on what you're thinking.
As I read back what I just wrote, I'm shaking my head because I can't count how many times I've said that very sentence. Focus on what you're thinking. In fact, I think about that so much, that I actually over think it. I wake up thinking and fall asleep thinking.
What has helped me is journaling. I write down my thoughts. I don't write down my every thought, but I've developed a steady habit of writing them down. It's kind of mind blowing to read back all the junk, not real, hurtful thoughts a person can have. (Good thoughts are there, too, but we're concentrating on the negative ones.)
I recommend you consider doing what's working for me. And, here's an added tip, date every entry (or page — depending on how much you write). A date serves as a great reference for how long you've been dealing with something, or how long ago you stopped dealing with something.
Go and plan this today. Get ready to make you better in the new year.
If you need anything, just ask. I'm always here to help. ⚅⚄
