As a professional speaker, I get to talk with tons of people. And. When people talk about work, they often say, "I'm just a receptionist." Wow. Do you hear what I hear? Did you hear JUST. See. The word JUST means 'no more than'. So. What they're saying (in essence) is that -- what they do -- is no more than their title. This is where I come unglued. You mustn't let your work title do that. Take your power back. How? Well, for starters, get rid of the absurd word JUST. Replace it with THE. Now, say, "I'm THE receptionist." Why is this a good thing to do? Because. When you fully understand that your life matters, you're no longer JUST a receptionist. Life Is Fabulous!
