Have you ever stopped doing what you were doing only to realize you stopped thinking about what you wanted to stop thinking about? Let me give you an example. Let's say you want to stop thinking about cake. Cake is your favorite treat. It's the very thing that keeps your weight up. So. Now that you've declared you want to lose weight, what's the first thing you start thinking about? You got it. Cake! Then, you get doing something. Now, you're not thinking of cake. Of course, you don't realize you're not thinking of cake until you start thinking of cake again. Cake. Cake. Cake. What's my point? My point is this. You have the power to stop thinking about what you don't want to think about. How? By telling yourself to stop thinking of cake -- when you're thinking of cake -- and think about going outside for a walk. Then, go for a walk. And, the more you become aware of your thoughts -- and the more you understand how powerful your thoughts are -- my guess is, you will consciously decide what you want to think about most.
